Clicking on the icon in Administration will make opening the menu for subaccounts managements in gemiusHeatMap system. Logins of sub accounts have such sample: accountname:username, for example, for the account example.com we can create such sub accounts:

  • example.com:Krzysztof
  • example.com:guest
  • example.com:news

The purpose of subaccounts is to make a limited scope of data available. In example above, the login example.com:news is only used for browsing the section “News” on the webpage. In the administration menu the following options are available:

  • Add new user

To add a new user, inscribe his/her login and password (two times). During the creation of a new account and other operations on a subaccount, gemiusHeatMap communicates with the server, that is why the message “Communication error” may appear. In this case you should try once again.

  • Change password

In order to change the password of a given subaccount, you should click on the option “Change password”. On the panel on the right-hand side of the administration window. Inscribe the new password twice, consisting of at least 6 symbols and then confirm with the [ok] bottom.

  • Change rights of access

Usually a new created password has access to the whole webpage, it is marked in this way:

Addresses: *

Access policy: Allow

The asterisk [*] means any sequence of characters.

In order to make a single page available, inscribe a single URL address in the column of addresses:

Addresses: http://www.example.com/index.php?section=1&id=1

Access policy:  Allow

Availability of a certain domain can have the following form:

Addresses: *news.example.com*

Access policy: Allow

On a similar basis you can restrict access to selected sections of a webpage:

Addresses: *example.com/sensitive_data*

Access policy: Refuse

Besides the restriction of access to the selected parts of a webpage, we can choose whether the user of a sub account will be able to browse LinkMap or/and ClickMap by using the option of multiple choice (checkboxes) in the upper part of the window.

  • Delete a user

In order to delete a sub account, you should click “Delete a user” select in the panel on the right-hand side of administration window, and additionally confirm your choice. Deletion of the account cannot be cancelled.
